I. Autobiographische Texte
Die folgenden neun Texte gehen dem Leben Pater Kentenichs nach, konzentrieren sich aber kaum auf Daten und geschichtliche Abläufe. Sie wollen viel mehr innere Vorgänge des Gründers beleuchten soweit sie uns zugänglich und von ihm bezeugt sind.
Pater Kentenich wandte gerne für die Worte Jesu ein Bild an. Er meinte, sie seien wie "Lücken im Gestein" - auf einer Bergtour zum Beispiel -, die plötzlich den Blick in eine weite Landschaft freigeben. Entsprechend dürfen die folgenden Texte auch wie "Lücken im Gestein" verstanden werden, die uns einen Blick in die Seelenlandschaft des Gründers erlauben. |

I. Autobiographical Texts
The following nine texts follow Fr Kentenich’s life, but they do not concentrate on dates and the historical order of events. The intention is far more to shed light on what was going on in the founder himself, to the extent that this is accessible to us and attested by himself.
Fr Kentenich liked to use a picture to characterize Jesus’ words. He said they were like a “hole in a rock” – such as you find when climbing mountains, for example – that suddenly open up the view onto a vast landscape. So we may see the following texts also as a “hole in a rock” that give us an insight into the landscape of the founder’s soul. |

II. Historische Texte
Es folgt eine Reihe von Texten, die sich auf geschichtliche Vorgänge der Gründungszeit Schönstatts und der Lebenszeit Pater Kentenichs beziehen. In seinem Denken ist Schönstatt nie nur eine Lehre oder eine systematische Spiritualität. Die Gründung Schönstatts ist ein Lebensvorgang, der eine göttliche Initiative mit entsprechender menschlicher Mitwirkung dynamisch entfaltet hat und dadurch eine ganz originelle Art von System bildet. Für Pater Kentenich ist die Geschichte das primäre, "unsere Heilige Schrift", die Lehre und Systematik das sekundäre. Insofern zunächst also Texte, die die Geschichte beleuchten. |

II. Historical Texts
The following series of texts refers to the historical processes of Schoenstatt’s foundation and Fr Kentenich’s life. According to his thinking, Schoenstatt is not just a teaching or a systematic spirituality. Schoenstatt’s foundation was a life process, which dynamically developed a divine initiative through corresponding human cooperation, and as a result formed a very original system. For Fr Kentenich, history is primary, “our Sacred Scripture”, his teaching and system are secondary. The texts that follow keep this in mind as they cast light on history. |
